1 Praise the Lord!
O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever.
Reflection
Someone has said that “Happiness is seeing a beautiful sunset and knowing who to thank.”
When we look around in a day and recognize the blessings that surround us, do we know who to thank? Sometimes it is a prayer of gratitude that we lift to God. Sometimes it is stopping to BE grateful and take in that moment. Sometimes it is sitting down at the end of the day and writing out all of the things for which we are grateful that day.
I don’t have scientific proof of this, but I believe that gratitude begets gratitude; that the more grateful we are, the more grateful we become. Turning to God to find ways to express our gratitude will have a transforming affect on how we live and how we experience life.
Today I am thankful for our Trinity community, for people who reach out to care for one another in challenging times, for our Ad Hoc team who are doing challenging work, for the amazing music we had on Sunday, for great conversations and things to look forward to in the near future. I am thankful that when I take the time to think about it, there is SO MUCH for which I can be thankful.
